The HR Team Welcomes 2020 with a New Leadership Structure

Columbia, Maryland – January 2, 2020 – The HR Team, a leading Maryland-based human resources outsourcing firm founded in 1996, has announced an evolution in the company’s leadership structure. Company founder Eileen Levitt is transitioning to the position of CEO and Karen Warthen will assume the role of president. This new organizational structure is intended to bolster the firm’s strategic HR service offerings and provide well-deserved recognition for Ms. Warthen’s demonstrated business acumen and leadership abilities.

Ms. Warthen joined The HR Team in 2001 and possesses more than 20 years of diverse human resources experience in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. As the firm’s consulting director, she has been responsible for managing client relations, resource planning, service delivery, project work, quality control, and staff development. In addition, Ms. Warthen has provided senior-level client consulting services. In her new role as president, she will oversee the company’s strategic initiatives and service management efforts. Ms. Warthen holds a BS from York College, an MS in Management from University of Maryland, University College and is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and holds the SHRM-SCP certification.

Ms. Levitt is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), an SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SCP), and holds an MBA from The University of Baltimore and a BS in Finance from The American University. Seeking to fill a significant void in the market, Ms. Levitt drew upon her vast knowledge and experience in human resources, as well as business strategy, communications, training, coaching, and financial management, to found The HR Team in 1996. She continues to derive great personal satisfaction from helping small, mid-size, and emerging companies focus on directing their growth and profitability. As CEO, Ms. Levitt will be tasked with creating, planning, implementing, and integrating the overall strategic direction of the organization.
