Happy New Year!
A few years ago, I spent a day on a college campus with my cousin and his then 5-year-old. It’s been a while since I spent the day with a toddler, but here’s what I re-learned:
- They can be boundless balls of energy and then just crash.
- They can put together multiple sentences that force you to think faster than you can think.
- Any food served on a stick is a “sword” and worth eating.
- You can count the number of squirrels on the Penn State Campus if you try really hard (and have a leisurely two hours to spare to get from downtown State College to the stadium lots).
- Sponge Bob still rules.
As we enter the new year, my wish for you and your employees is to enter it with the wonder and excitement of a 5-year-old.
Picture yourself, your employees, and your colleagues coming to work each day with that sense of enthusiasm! With the right leadership, it may not be as much of a stretch as you think.
